How we helped this Raleigh automotive restyling provider with a much needed website refresh, increase local visibility, and drive inbound leads
About the Company
5 Star Design is an automotive restyling service provider in Raleigh, North Carolina. They are a local leader in window tinting, paint protection film (PPF), ceramic coating, custom vinyl wraps, fleet services, corporate signage and more.
They boast over 30 years of combined in-house experience and excel in the one most important area of being an automotive styling provider: customer service. They are an extremely personable crew and all share an automotive passion. This becomes evident in the effort they put into their work.

Their Challenge
The company needed a website refresh … badly. Their original site lacked any sort of regular maintenance and did not have much valuable content on it to build trust with potential customers. It was also massively outdated in design - which was not at all a representation of the amazing work they put into their customers’ vehicles. The side effects of this was poor local search ranking and lost sales from an off-putting website.
They wanted a website that was sleek, modern, and designed to attract viewers - and a site that makes it easier for those viewers to submit forms and eventually become customers. They also needed content writing to make sure their website did a sufficient job of explaining what they do, why they do it, and why you should trust them with your vehicle. This content also needed to be SEO-friendly and hit on the right keywords so that they’d actually show in Google searches - the lack of content on their site before was holding them back, big time! Despite operating in the Raleigh-Durham area for over 15 years, they weren’t even ranking on page one of Google for their cornerstone window tinting service.
Past their website, 5 Star Design needed to boost things a little more while the SEO efforts kicked in. They knew they needed to advertise online, but didn’t know how and cannot manage it themselves in an ongoing manner.
The Solution
5 Star Design partnered with TurboDigital Marketing to complete a full website overhaul. After deciding that a Wordpress site was the way to go, we got right to work on the refresh. This site needed about 15 pages redesigned and rewritten.
We began with wireframing the website to get a general feel for the site design and provided the owner with a visual sitemap. The visual map is a great tool to see the different journeys you can take through a website and see the internal linking structure. We used this to make sure the owner’s vision for the website aligned with our process.
Once approved by the owner, we shared our workflow spreadsheet and began the project. This act of transparency allows the owner to see where we are at in the process at any point in time.
Since the original website did not have much content to begin with, much of the on-page copywriting was completely redone. We made sure this new content was written with the shop’s local SEO needs in mind. Hours of keyword research and revisions went into making sure every page is educational, informative, and optimized.
To make sure we can track performance, we implemented multiple tools such as Google Analytics and Search Console.
Following the launch, we then developed an SEO strategy to continue publishing valuable content on and off the website. Knowing that these results take time, we began our management of PPC ads to start driving immediate, targeted traffic to the site.
Our Results for Them
5 Star Design now has a sleek, modernized website that is designed to educate viewers and convert. They now have optimized service pages full of high-res gallery photos to showcase the amazing work they do.
Since the new design launched in December 2024 and into January 2025, they have seen some amazing statistics:
- Website traffic has seen healthy and steady growth following some significant increases after the optimized content was implemented. Since the owner did not have any analytics tools previously we cannot display their traffic before our partnership.
- Google Business Profile (GBP) visibility increased by over 60% in local searches which led to an increase of over 50% in call leads directly from the GBP.
- Since launching Google PPC campaigns in mid-March 2025 we have consistently seen solid lead volume considering a modest budget in a very competitive local market. On average we are seeing 15-30 leads through lead form and phone call channels at an average CPC of $1.60
